April in Crested Butte

With only one week left in the ski season, it’s time to enjoy live music, a fun-filled pond skimming event, and the iconic Ski Town Breakdown. The end-of-season festivities are always fun! Come out and enjoy it before our town becomes sleepy for the off-season. 



April Happenings

April 1st – 30th, Green Light Campaign. Join our community awareness campaign! Swap one light bulb for green in a visible spot at home or work.
April 2nd, Night at the Museum at Crested Butte Museum from 6:00 – 8:00. Enjoy some snacks, learn about the Town’s Historic Preservation Plan, and share your thoughts!
April 3rd, Flauschink Historic Slideshow at Crested Butte Museum from 7:00 – 9:00
April 4th – 17th, Where are they Now? at Center for the Arts from 5:00 – 7:00 PM
April 6th, Pond Skim Presented by Kona Big Wave at CBMR at 1:00. The end of ski season is one last excuse to celebrate, dress up in silly costumes, and enjoy this fun event!
April 6th, Ski Town Breakdown at Butte 66 from 3:30 – 5:00. Enjoy the final show of this 3-show series!
April 6th, Free Movie Night: Kung Fu Panda at Crested Butte Majestic Theatre at 4:30 and 7:30

Market Conditions

New listings are down by 15%, while under-contracts are up by 33%. Months supply of inventory is at 6 for Crested Butte and 10 for Mt. Vail Resorts Update

The resort will close on April 7th. As of today, season snowfall is 272 inches. Although not a record year, overall, the snow conditions were amazing, with many powder days. Click HERE for the latest weather update. The resort will take a much-needed break and start the summer season in mid-June.


Beer Ski

Join the Crested Butte Nordic 3rd Annual Beer Ski World Championships for a test of end-of-season endurance, Crested Butte style! Gather three friends for a 4-person relay or take on the challenge solo. Entry fees are $100 per team of 4 for the relay and $45 for solo racers. Tap HERE for more details and registration.



As our winter season comes to a close, I hope you were able to enjoy this snowy mountain town we all love. It was a great season with plenty of snow for all our winter activities and many fun events.
