If you’ve ever wanted to see a tropical parade on skis, Crested Butte’s Alley Loop Nordic Marathon is your event! Happening on Friday, January 31, through Sunday, February 2, 2025, this one-of-a-kind race combines competitive skiing with over-the-top costumes, all set against the stunning backdrop of our snowy mountain town.
A Ski Race Like No Other
The Alley Loop is more than just a Nordic ski marathon. It’s a costume parade on skis that winds through downtown alleys, snowy streets, and scenic mountain trails. As a Birkebeiner Qualifier, it offers both serious competition and plenty of fun for spectators and participants alike.

Friday, January 31
• Registration & Bib Pick-Up: 12:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 1
• Races Begin: 9:00 a.m. (42k, 21k, 10k, and youth divisions)
• Costume Contest & Awards: 2:30 p.m.
Sunday, February 2
• Collegiate Races: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
