October in Crested Butte

Fall is officially here and the hillsides are draped in golden hues in every direction! Peak foliage has arrived, and no matter where you explore, you’re in for a breathtaking view. As CBMR wrapped up lift operations last Sunday, a few spots on the mountain and downtown remain open to enjoy the peak fall colors. Read on to discover the exciting events happening this month!

October Happenings

October 3rd, Annual Potluck at The Nordic Center at 5:00. Kick off winter with great food, friends, snow predictions, and some heated wax debates!
October 3rd, Author Talk: Judy Fairchild at Crested Butte Library at 6:00
October 4th, Red Lady Celebration at Elk Avenue at 5:00. Celebrate the victory in the 47-year fight to Save Red Lady with street dancing on Elk Avenue to Floodgate Operators!
October 5th, Camp 4 Coffee Cart to Cart Trail Run from 8:00 - 2:00. 10 or 19-mile trail runs at the height of the fall colors!
October 5th, MTCB Fall Festival at Ted Scheske Park from 12:00 - 4:00. Enjoy a free afternoon of live music, kids' activities, cookie decorating, a pumpkin patch, and more! Food trucks will be serving lunch!
October 5th, Oktoberfest at Zuni West Brewing at 3:00. Enjoy live music from Clay Street Unit and the Tenny Men, savor authentic Bavarian food, and bring the kids for fun activities.
October 5th, Fright Night at the Majestic: Death Becomes Her at Majestic Theater at 7:30 PM
October 5th, Matchstick Productions Ski Film: Calm Beneath Castles at Center for the Arts at 7:00 PM. Experience the breathtaking journey of Calm Beneath Castles, a ski film that captures the spirit of adventure and the tranquility of the mountains.
October 12th, Free Movie: Clueless at Majestic Theater at 4:30
October 18th, Murder Mystery at Crested Butte Mountain Theater from 5:30 - 7:30.
October 22nd, Jack’s Karaoke Night at Majestic Theater at 8:00. Get ready to belt it out, or sit back and enjoy the best bad singers of the Butte!
October 23rd, Frunk or Treat – An EV Experience at 602 Elk Avenue from 2:00 - 4:00. Enjoy EV test drives, learn about rebates and tax incentives, and discover the towns' joint EV readiness plan.
October 23rd, Women and Wellness Workshop at Studio "KK", 35 Brackenbury St from 6:00 - 8:00
October 29th, Ghost Stories Pub Crawl at Crested Butte Museum from 5:00 - 7:00

New listings are down by 11%, while under-contracts are up by 14%. Months supply of inventory is at 7 for Crested Butte and 9 for Mt. MTCB Fall Festival

The second annual Mt. Crested Butte Fall Festival is on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 12 pm to 4 pm at Ted Scheske Park. Enjoy live music by Mama Lingua, a pumpkin patch, kids' activities, cookie decorating, and food trucks on-site—all while sipping on free drinks! CBMR Winter Opening and Passes

Winter may still be a few weeks away, but Crested Butte Mountain Resort is already prepping for an epic season, with the lifts set to start running on November 27! If you're planning to ski, be sure to get your Epic Pass before prices go up on October 9. More details here.
