July 11–20, 2025Celebrate peak bloom with ten full days of guided wildflower hikes, hands-on art and photography classes, garden tours, evening lectures, and workshops on pollination and plant ecology. From sketching alpine blooms to hiking hidden meadows, each event highlights the vibrant summer landscape. This festival is a perfect blend of nature, art, and community tradition.
July 4, 2025 | 9:00 am - 1:00 pmJoin the local tradition as decorated floats, bands, community groups, and families line up for a festive procession down historic Elk Avenue. Expect patriotic music, friendly competition, and the town’s signature water fight finale. It is a joyous morning when Crested Butte comes together to celebrate community pride and summer’s arrival.
July 3, 2025 | 5:00 – 10:00 PMKick off the holiday early with live music, food, drinks, kids' activities, and a vibrant mountain atmosphere. The night wraps up with a fireworks show lighting up the slopes—one of the best displays of the summer.
July 07 – August 11, 2025 | Monday evenings at 5:30 PMFor over 30 years, Alpenglow has brought the community together with free outdoor concerts set against the stunning backdrop of Crested Butte Mountain. Enjoy live music, sunshine, and laid-back summer vibes with friends and family. Pack a picnic, bring a lawn chair, and soak in this beloved local tradition.
Sundays through October 5, 2025 | 9 AM – 2 PMThis week-long culinary celebration features intimate chef-led dinners, tasting seminars, and hands-on cooking demos. The highlight is the Grand Tasting under the stars with over 200 wines, live music, food pairings, and a festive community vibe at the Big Mine Ice Arena. The festival raises funds for the Arts Center and draws food-lovers from across the Valley.
Wednesdays, July 9 – August 13, 2025Kick off your midweek with free outdoor concerts at the base of the mountain. Hosted by the Mt. Crested Butte Town Center Association, Music on the Mountain brings live performances, local food and drinks, and a lively crowd. It’s family-friendly, always fun, and happens rain or shine.
Sundays through October 5, 2025 | 9 AM – 2 PMSpend your Sunday strolling through this beloved local market, where every product is grown or made within 100 miles of town. From seasonal produce and fresh-baked pastries to handcrafted art, the market is a perfect blend of Crested Butte’s community spirit, creativity, and culinary goodness.
July 12, 2025Join runners and mountain bikers for Crested Butte’s oldest trail event. Choose between the rugged 25K loop (nearly 4,000 ft of elevation gain), the classic 15K out-and-back to Green Lake, or the brand-new mountain bike race. Post-race celebrations include a brunch, live music, and community camaraderie in the pine forest.
