Though only about 45 minutes from world-class skiing and hiking trails of Mt Crested Butte, Gunnison has its share of outdoor recreation. Hartman Rocks, just south of town, is a popular area offering many trails from beginner to advanced.  There are also a number of water opportunities, including fishing, rafting, and a whitewater park. Gunnison is home to Western Colorado University, but also home to people of all ages, including a number of cattle and horse ranchers.


For those looking for beautiful views, access to outdoor adventure, yet the conveniences of a small city, Gunnison is the perfect combination. Gunnison offers a wide range of housing options from condos to extensive homes on acreage. Most homes are relatively traditional.
