September in Gunnison

September is a fun month in Gunnison, with cooler days, the first hints of fall, and plenty happening around town. There’s live music, local art, festivals, and lots of good reasons to get out and enjoy the last stretch of summer before fall really settles in.

September Happenings:

September 4th, First Friday Art Walk at Gunnison Arts Center from 5:00 - 8:00
September 4th, Easy Jim - Music of the Grateful Dead at I Bar Ranch at 8:00
September 4th, Live Music at Garlic Mike’s River Bar at 5:30. Enjoy live music by the Gunnison River every Friday through Sunday at 5:30 PM, with performances continuing through September 13th.
September 5th, Gunnison Farmers Market at Downtown Gunnison. Recurring every Saturday until October 17th
September 9th - October 7th, Art Explorers at Gunnison Arts Center from 2:30 - 4:00. A fun, hands-on art class happening every Wednesday, where kids can experiment, get creative, and make new friends.
September 9th, Live Fully: Flower Arrangement with Sundrop Flora at Buckel Family Wine from 6:00 - 8:00
September 11th, 5 Point Film Festival at Gunnison Library from 6:00 - 8:00. A free evening of inspiring short adventure films celebrating the outdoors, big adventures, and the people who pursue them.
September 12th, Pick and Paint at Sundrop Flora from 5:00 - 8:30. Pick your own flowers, tour the farm, then turn your blooms into inspiration for a guided painting class with local artists.
September 16th, Gunnison Harvest Festival at Buckel Family Wine from 4:00 - 7:00
September 26th, Sunni Gunni Local Art Market at Gunnison Arts Center from 10:00 - 2:00

Market Conditions

September in Gunnison - market conditions - 2026
The single-family market had a strong August, with more homes selling than last year. Buyers have a little more time to find the right home, with homes taking longer to sell. Prices have softened slightly, but overall the market remains fairly steady. For buyers, there is less pressure to move quickly and more opportunity to find the right fit. For sellers, buyers are being more thoughtful, making good pricing and presentation especially important.

The condo and townhome market is a bit slower and more buyer-friendly. There are more properties to choose from, and homes are taking longer to sell. This gives buyers more time to compare their options and more room to negotiate. For sellers, the market is more competitive, and homes that are priced well and offer good value are the ones most likely to get attention
