Success!

One of my favorite things about fall in Crested Butte is how much there is happening in town before winter arrives. The Crested Butte Film Festival is one of those events that brings locals and visitors together for a few days of great films, good conversations, and plenty of mountain-town fun.
The 16th annual Crested Butte Film Festival takes place September 24–27, 2026, bringing more than 80 narrative and documentary films from around the world to Crested Butte.
If you are coming to Crested Butte for the festival, I recommend planning ahead. The 2026 festival schedule is now live, with individual tickets and festival passes available.
One important tip: pass holders and ticket-pack holders still need to reserve a seat for each screening in advance. Arriving at least 20 minutes before your film starts is also recommended to guarantee entrance.
The Film Festival is a great reason to experience Crested Butte in the fall. Enjoy Elk Avenue, local shops and restaurants, and the valley as it begins its transition into fall.
After 16 years, CBFF has become a special part of our community and one of my favorite fall events.
Mark your calendar for September 24–27 and come experience it for yourself!
The festival combines independent cinema with everything that makes Crested Butte such a special place to visit.
Over four days, you can enjoy:
Screenings are centered at the Center for the Arts and the Majestic Theatre, making it easy to explore downtown Crested Butte between films.
